  1. I just purchased the 300 amp version of this meter. There are no instructions included with it, allowing me to make sure it is installed properly. Also has a VERY large blue plastic/metal item which is wired to the display. The wires are only about 2 inches long, which prohibits mounting of the display in the intended location. Please identify the wires and explain to me why it was not stated that the large blue piece was included?

      • I purchased the 100V / 300A model recently (ASIN: B00YBUD1CE). The product is priced very well, and is solidly built. Like other buyers, I need to mount the transformer about 1m – 1.5m from the meter panel. The provided 3-wire white/blue connection is too short for my application. Do you sell extension wires for the transformer? If not, can you provide specifications for the wire/connectors so that I can make my own or order the proper one from another source? Please provide connectory type/model, recommended wire type / gauge / sheilding. My application is for automotive use in a diesel-powered truck, measuring current coming off the alternator. If you know of a product on Amazon (USA) that I could use for the extension, please provide ASIN. Also, it would be nice to mount the meter in a industry standard round 52mm gauge pod. Other than the end user/installer custom making a round plastic or metal mounting plate, have you considered making such a meter and/or mounting adapter? Thank you

          The wire is for current transformer of Holzer current & voltmeter meter.
          One side of the wire is 3 pins male plug and the other side is 3 pins female plug.
          As your description, you want to apply this product to measure the current coming off the alternator, please note that this product is a DC meter for measuring DC current.

      • I have an Elenco PSU XP-720K as a soldering kit. I want to ad this gauge to the power supply on the 1-30VDC rail. I can power the LED’s from the 5V rail. I have asked and searched an see no diagrams that show this useage. I thought I figured it out. Then was directed to this site and now have conflicting information.
        My understanding is
        The Skinny red to the 5V red pole.
        Skinny black and fat black to common ground.
        The red and yellow to the 1-30V rail.
        Is this correct?
        Amazon store page says the opposite. “If just be used as a voltmeter, it is recommended that the yellow line and the black line were connected together, to prevent the ammeter digital flashing” This site conflicts with this statement.

    • On the 200A and 300A versions of this VA meter with CT for DC measurement. How long can you extend the wires from the CT to the meter? What wire is recommended? Is shielding or twisted pair or wire size important?

        If the specs for your panel meters are on your website I cannot find them. The meter I bought had ZERO documentation. None. Who sells products with no specs, no wiring diagrams? That is crazy. Your 5 wire meter has two reds, two blacks, and one yellow wire. I guess we’re suposed to just guess and buy anither one if it smokes.

        • Hi i have bought the same meter as you with no current shunt , ie green/red display 0-33v the connection diagram on Amazon(uk) shows back of panel with red+ supply Yellow + (volt displayed ) and black- or gnd that takes care of the top voltage display .

          The bottom red/black leads are the bottom current display which need to be placed in the gnd/neg side according to the diagram ! if used as a charger circuit you connect blk to gnd but if used as a power supply unit red is connected to gnd. note max current looks like 3A without a shunt ,but this is not made clear by the diagram ,so i shall make a wire shunt myself adjusted to read 30a max.
          to suit my amateur radio mobile rig when not in car as a back up supply when camping.

  3. I bought the 30V – 50A meter via amazon.de. It came witjout a shunt resistor, hence is useless for current measurement. Should the shunt have been in the packet? It was not offered as an addon on amazon, and not visible on the fotos of the product. On the other hand, a shunt was mentioned several times in the ratingsgiven for the product by amazon customers.

  5. I have bought three wire voltmeter / ammeter in 50 amp and 100 amp complete with shunts from Amazon UK. The voltages on both are very accurate, but the current readings on both are around 10% of the actual current going through the shunt. When connecting a 15 ohm power resistor at 15 volts, both meters read around 0.1 amp instead of the correct 1 amp. The current potentiometers hardly vary the reading. Why are these meters so bad at measuring current ?

      The shunt is just a resistance with small resistance value which cannot protect the meter from being damaged by over-current.
      Over-current will burn the meter.

    • I got frustrated with my Samsung Chromebook freezing all of the time so I switched it back to &qeal;stobtu". Hasn't frozen once since reverting. Freeze issue appears to be a known problem the devs are working on.You can revert to stable via the USB stick recovery method. It is really simple but I wish there was an easier way to do it.

  14. I have a drok yb27va. Dc volt/ammeter with shunt for 100a dc. 3 wire connection. Can read voltage with it, but 0000 for current even with pots trimmed. Dig multi meter shows load of 2-30a dc. (When connected radio load used), yet straight zeros across board on DROK meter. Shunt is installed as per diagrams on your web site and forum pages. So…..whut’s up ?? No fluctuation on read out at all.

        I’ve noticed that the power cycles on my circuit intermittently when this is connected (albeit it sometimes is in the sunshine)

          All kind of LED products working under direct sunshine will become not clear, like you use your phone under the sun.
          This product is LED display, if apply it under direct sunshine, the display will become fuzzy.

  17. Per your amazon post, I need an adjustable shunt for the 100V/A digital meter. Where do I find one for this? I installed this on a 75mv 200/V/A shunt and the amperage is incorrect.

  18. I have the 3.5 -30.0V, 50A 3 wire meter purchased from an eBay seller.
    I then bought a 50A/75mV shunt.
    Not a big investment in cash, but it sure took a long time to get here so I don’t want to burn it with incorrect wiring.
    I have a 7v,400mA power supply to use while I am setting it up, It will be used in a 19VDC circuit.
    So V+ (RED) to the shunt then on to the load, V- (BLACK) direct to the load.
    the red wire on the meter to the ++ side of the shunt the yellow wire to the + side of the shunt and black to power supply V-.
    YES?
    It indicated the voltage but no Amps.
    What am I doing wrong?

  21. I’ve been looking at your products and was wondering if you have a product that will work for me. I’m trying to assemble a tester to check out light and electric brake circuits for small 1 and 2 axle, 5000 -20,000 lb GVWR trailers that are pulled behind pickup trucks. Light circuits are no problem figuring out, but I’m wanting to test the ampere draw/load on the brake magnets, which are about 2.5-3.5 amps each , with 2 axles @ 4 wheels ends total would be 10 -14 amps total draw/load on the brake circuit at the trailer connection to tow vehicle. I was wondering if the shunts that are shown with your 0-30 Volt, 0 -100 Amp units can handle that much amperage.? I understand how the meters will measure volt and ampere differences so it can be displayed on the units, but I wanted to make sure that the amperage won’t try to feed thru the meter units and burn them up if the shunt can’t handle the amp load put to it. Thank you for enlightening me to your products and maybe will be doing business with you .
