  18. Hi!
What is the difference between the data sets 1-9 and the data set 0?
the manual talks about those sets separately but they say the same thing : “stored after power off” – this is confusing, do all the sets, 0 to 9 work the same way then?

    • Hello Daniel,
      Thank you for writing in.
The data sets 1-9 is the previous measured data, you can easily checked and switch the data and continue to accumulate when the product open next time.
The data set 0 is the temporarily stored data of last time and it will flash when you turn on the product next time to remind you the measured data of last time.
      Hope this can help you.
      Best regards

PRODUCT: DROK New Version Micro OLED USB 3.0 Meter Voltage Current Charger Detector,

Hi, I bought this meter on AMAZON and I’m happy with the purchase, but I have some doubts of use and quisera me clarify that. I have no clear idea what the difference of using 3 different modes direct mode, quick charging mode and disconnected mode ?. Please can say practical examples of use ?.
    Thank you very much.

    • Hi Carlos Garrido,
      Thank you for writing in.
Direct Mode is that the two signal wires in the middle are conducted directly. In this mode, the USB port can support data transmission.

Quick charge mode is that the two signal wires in the middle are connected to a special charging chip which can simulate various quick charge agreement from different manufactures. In this mode, it can make different device matched automatically and achieve to charge quickly.

Disconnected mode is that the two signal wires are disconnected. In this mode, the USB port cannot transfer data either support QC 2.0 quick charge. This mode mainly for charging for some mobile phone which only need to connect the positive and negative side when charging.

      Hope this can help you.

    • Hello sigma415,
      Thank you for writing in.
Here the PDF file is the Datasheet of the product:
      DATASHEET_180043
      Hope this can help you.
      Best regards

      • This datasheet does not really help, because it does not explain all details of operation.
I’m still looking for the PDF version of the small colourful “Operational Instructions”, which was part of the delivery, but only in paper.
        Thank you.

  23. Hi. I am in Canada. I bought an older version of the meter on amazon.ca for $27. then I found out about the upgraded one so I am going to return the older one. the upgraded one seems to come in two versions. one for $33 and another labelled “protector” for $35. If a reader is confused about these two models, scroll above to 8 April 2016 where Drok posts PDFs of the two. Keep in mind there is a 3rd older model as well (that appears to be USB 2.0 only).

    • Hi plexus,
So sorry that we are not sure what can we do for you.
These three products are similar in appearance, but are with different functions.
Here are the instructions of the three products:
      The product you bought (#180020):
      Instruction_180020
      #180043 (one for $33):
      Instruction_180043
      #180055 (one for $35):
      Instruction_180055
      Hope this can help you.
      Best regards

      • yes that is helpful. in fact I got the USB Protector today! I prefer it over the USB 2.0 version. I have a couple questions: the temperature reading seems to be off by quite a bit. its reading 30C when the temp outside is 20C – is there a way to calibrate the temperature reading? how do you switch the display into black on white? thanks!

        • Hello plexus,
          Thank you for writing in.
The temperature reading of this product is not for ambient temperature.
It is used for testing the temperature of the sampled device, which is mainly for protecting the meter not be damaged by over-heat.
The color of the font cannot be changed.
          Hope this can help you.
          Best regards

  24. 1. which model is better 180043 or 180055 ?

    2. also since the current limit is 3A, does it means it will fused when hit 3.1A? Will the USB meter damage?

    3. also, any USB meter support QC 3.0 as I know QC 3.0 will have 20V, 180043 only manage till 13V

    • Hi Terry,
Thank you for your interest in or product.
They are two different products with different functions.
It is hard for us to depend which would be better.
Here are the instructions of these products, so that you can have a better understanding of these two products then you can choose the most suitable one for your need:
      #180043
      Instruction_180043
      #180055:
      Instruction_180055
The max. input/measured current of these two products are 3A, please do not exceed it, otherwise, the meter will be burnt.
#180043 does not support QC3.0, it supports QC2.0.
#180055 supports QC3.0, but it cannot support the max.voltage of QC3.0(20V), the measured voltage range of this product is DC 3.7-13V.
Beg your understanding and hope this can help you.
      Best regards

      • I was trying to decide between the model 180043 and 180055, but now I see the 180043 is “currently unavailable” on Amazon. Has this version been discontinued now? Is there a new version coming out?

        • Hello Duane,
          Thank you for writing in.
We are sorry tha 180043 is unavailable now.
The 180043 is professional in testing.
You can test most universal data with this product, such as power, electric quantity. And it can store 10 data groups, which is useful when you need to measure different devices.
But the advantage of 180055 is its powerful protecting functions, including over-voltage protection, over-current protection, under-voltage protect, undercurrent protection, and over-temperature protection.
Is the 180055 can meet your demand?
If you have any further question, please feel free to contact us.
          Best regards

  25. Hello,

What I can do with version 3.0 that can not with 2.0?, or what is the main difference?

    Thank you very much !!

    • Hello Jhon,
Thank you for your interest in our product.
The version 3.0 has three operating mode for selection:direct mode, quick charge mode and disconnected mode.
And it supports USB 3.0 data transmission.
Here are the instruction of two versions for you have a better understanding of them:
      version 2.0:
      Instruction_180020
      version 3.0:
      Instruction_180043
      Hope this can help you.

  26. Drok,
I noticed on the Amazon (US) webpage for the 4 in 1 USB multimeter that the OLED USB 3.0 does not work with inductive loads (motors, PC cooling fans, etc.). Does the OLED USB 2.0 work with inductive loads? I am looking to buy it so as to test out numerous items include a PC cooling fan (5VDC, .28A, 1.4W).
    Thanks, JJKamp

    • Hello JJKamp,
      Thank you for writing in.
Neither the OLED USB 3.0 nor the OLED USB 2.0 cannot work with inductive loads.
This products are mainly used to test the digital products, like cellular phone.
      Hope you can understand.
      Best regards

  27. Hi. Just placed my order. I’m planning to use the run time function as I suspect my hiFace power supply to my EVO USB/SPDIF converter has some drop outs. Will dropouts in power supply be shown in runtime ?

Of cause the meter will be added between PC and the converter in the signal path. And not the power supply itself.
What mode should I chose for such testing ?

    • Hello R1200CL,
      Thank you for writing in.
So sorry that we have check the product in this post that there is no run time function with this product.
Could you please tell us your order ID or the link of the product you have bought so that we can ensure the product and provide a solution to you?
      Waiting for your reply.
      Best regards

      • Hello R1200CL,
        Thank you for your rely.
Do you mean you want to use the run time function to check if there is drop outs from the hiFace power supply to my EVO USB/SPDIF converter?
So sorry that we are not clear of your application and the wiring.
Could you please tell us more details of it and if you can, we sincerely hope that you can send us some images to let us check the problem details?
With your help, we can find a solution more quickly.
        Hope you can understand.
        Best regards

        • Yes, that’s how I thaught the run time function worked. Am I wrong ?
If I have a power dropout on aa USB line, what will that function do ?

          • Hello R1200CL,
The run time function is the operating time when the meter is powered on, which cannot work for testing the power dropout.
As your description, do you mean you want to test if the USB line has power consumption during converting power?
Generally speaking, all the USB line will have power consumption during converting power.
The better quality the USB line has, the less power consumption it has.
And you can use this product to depend which USB line with better quality by the charging current.
            Best regards

  28. Hi Drok, buy your product and wanted to know several things.

I have a device with fast charging, but 9V does not measure well mAh, I mean I have a battery of 3220mAh and 5V measured well, gives me 3xxxmAh, but if charging 9V remains to 17xxmAh, reads like 5V instead of going up much faster than 9V

Is that so or am I doing something wrong? I have it in standard USB mode and have tried the other 2 modes and nothing.

Another thing, I have other brands meters (KCX-017 and KCX-045) and when it finishes loading the amperage set to 0, instead reading yours remains a very small number (eg. 0,012A)

Is your product or read so differently?

    Thank you.

    • Hello Diego,
      Thank you for writing in.
For the first question that the test capacitance values of 5V charging and 9V charging are different.
mAh is an accumulated unit. When using 9V to charge, the charging time will be less than using 5V to charge, so the accumulated value will be less. But the calculated battery capacitance is the same.
The norminal volateg of battery is 3.7V.
So the calculated value of using the tested value of 5V charging multiply by 5 and then devided by 3.7 and the calculated value of using the tested value of 9V charging multiply by 9 and then devided by 3.7 are the same.
mAh cannot represent the stored power of the battery.
mWh can represent the real stored power of the battery.

For the second question that the product still display 0.012A when finish loading.
Because some electrical device such as mobile phone will have current consumption when they standby. This small currentis used to replenish the current consumption whenthey are full charged. The standby current is very small.
If the accuracy of the meter is not high enough or this is in the range of error, it will not be displayed.
      Hope this can help you.
      Best regards

      • Hello again, I have some doubts and some new questions.

Regarding your first answer, but charge a 9V with the meter giving me this figure will continue 17xxmAh like 5V, but not do the math you told me, so then your device works.

I second the clear, it is the standby consumption once completed.

        And now the new question.

What is the difference between the 3 modes (USB connect, fast usb, usb disconnect).

        Thanks and regards.

Otherwise, there would be some difficulty in writing in Spanish if you also understand, I would be much easier to explain with my native language and not pull google translate.

  29. In the pictures above you can see more decimal places (0.000A) but my newly bought device shows (I:0.00A). I need the extra precision. Can I switch modes somehow, flash a new firmware or do I need to return the item and get another version?

    • Hello Achim,
      Thank you for writing in.
Could you please tell us your order ID or the FNSKU which is marked on the label attached on the package so we can ensure which product you have bought?
      Waiting for your reply.

  30. WHO IS CORRECT, PLEASE.

In a YouTube video review of your product (3400043?) the reviewer (dial2fast) said (at 1.43) he didn’t know what the Capacitance function was. Video at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o3Jn8qMmlnE.

Two people posted in the reviewer’s Comments section.

Stinky Cheese posted: Capacitance is to ensure what you have connected does not exceed the USB specification, including the added capacitance of the USB cabling though that is usually quite small relative to capacitor(s) in the connected device.

For example, the inrush current can be excessive if you start daisy chaining unpowered hubs. It can blow your USB port circuit, or worse a subcircuit in a motherboard chipset. That’s a bit obscure feature to place in the hands of the average hobbyist, but I imagine they went ahead and did it because the IC they used supported it so virtually no extra cost to do.

    BUT IN REPLY…

Dgturnerr posted: ‘C’ as used by DROK is NOT about the capacitance of capacitors or ‘condensers’ or the distributed capacitance of a circuit. DROK’S ‘C’ is amp hours, as I explained earlier.

Dgturnerrr first posted: Good product. Product description should include special meaning of ‘C’ = Capacity = Amp Hours, NOT Amp/Hours.

Instructions could reference an explanation for unusual use of symbol ‘C’ or outright explain that C or Capacity really means Amp Hours or Amps multiplied by Hours i.e. Current x Time.

Amp Hours x nominal volts = nominal watt hours i.e. energy supplied by the charger. Not all the supplied energy will be stored due to inefficiencies involving heat and chemistry.

    So, who is correct? 🙂

    • Hello terry,
      Thank you for writing in.
The value of “C” displayed on the meter is the charging/discharging cumulative capacitance.
This is not the real capacitance of the power supply/power bank.
Take charging for a power bank as an example.
When we charfe for the power bank, the charging voltage is 5V in general, but the real voltage range of a lithium battery is 3.4-4.2V.
So there is a buck voltage regulator board between the input of charging voltage and the battery.
There is a conversion efficiency, which is 85% in general.
And the value of “C” displays on the meter is the real capacitance of the input terminal.

For the the capacitance of a power bank, here is the formular: Cb=Cm*Vm/Vb/E%
      Cb is the calculated capacitance of the power bank;
Cm is the value of “C” displayed on the meter, the real capacitance of a full-charged power bank discharged totally.
Vm is the output voltage of the power bank, 5V in usual.
Vb is the inside voltage of the power bank, which is 3.7V in usual.
E% is the conversion efficiency, different power bank with different conversion efficiency, 85%-90% in general.
      Hope this can help you.

  31. Hello

Does the DROK® Mini USB Current Voltage Charger Detector support QC 3.0.
I read that it sorts QC 2 but I do not see anything about 3 support.?
