I have ten solar panels with the following specifications –

Open circuit voltage (VOC): 44.4 V
Max power voltage (VMP): 35.5 V
Short circuit current (ISC): 8.25 A
Max power current: 7.60 A
Power Tolerance 0/+3%</span></span>I would like to use your 900W Power Supply Module DC 8~60V to 10~120V 15A NC Voltage Regulator to step down DC voltage from the panels to 12 volts to input into an inverter to convert to 110v AC. Will you converter work with solar, maybe 2-3 panels per 900w module going to 2-3 separate inverters?
BobbyFontaineOctober 27, 2020 at 1:31 pmPost count: 0the more basic question is that if the input voltage does not exceed the limits of your regulator, will it work over the long term? can it carry the load day after day for reasonable length of time before being replaced? it’s affordable and small, just wanna know if it’s up for the task,, if I had more money, perhaps I’d go with a bigger regulator and inverter,, but these are used panels that I got cheap in order to learn how to use them,,
I don’t wanna use batteries, am just using them to power grow lights inside when the sun is shining,, I figure if I wire the panels in parallel, I can keep the volts steady between 35 and 45, then break then into sets to keep amps, therefor watts, well within the range of your regulators using multiple smaller inverters (or run them all though one large inverter, depending on what’s cheaper),,
if I can get all that to work, it would be a pretty cheap efficient starter project for people who just want to supplement their grid power supply during the day,, I’m not doing this to save money on electricity, it’s just something interesting to do that’s not so involved as adding batteries; bringing the sunshine inside for an indoor garden,, it all hinge on your regulator being able to handle the load for X amount of time,, that’s the question I think, how long would you guess X to be, a month, 6 months, a year, 5 years?

That is a boost converter only. It can’t step down voltage.
