    Solar panels -> 200310 -> 12v battery.

    I notice that when the Solar input goes to 0, the 200310 seems to still “function” with current drawn from the battery on the output.   The 200310 has been commanded to be “off” at this point and the current drawn isnt terrible (25ma) but my question is:   Does this put your wonderful 200310 at risk or stress?

    Thank you very much!

    Hello Michael Garber,

    Do you mean current flow back from battery to converter?

    In that case, it is easy to damage converter, please disconnect battery on the output. Or please connect a diode to stop backward current.

    Best regards,

    Yes, that’s exactly what I mean…   Thank you for your feedback!   A diode would complicate battery charging if I cant account for an exact Vdrop across the diode.   I just might go with a relay.

    But thanks(!) for the prompt reply.

    Hello Mike Garber,
    If you don’t want to connect diode, please disconnect battery firstly,  then turn off input power source; And turn on input power source firstly, and then connect battery.

    Best regards,

    Well, I went with Schottky diodes and the 200310 current setting/reporting function seems to have broke, although it still supplies whatever current the load requires for the set voltage.

    Was it a mistake using Schottky diodes with their poor leakage current?

    Im ordering another 200310.   They’re amazing if you dont abuse them.
    thanks!
