    I would like the serial/CNC interface specifications please.  I have found various others in this forum, but nothing for this unit.  Purchased only because of the advertised ability of control via UART/CNC.

    Sorry, old post, but I need to dredge this up again…

    I have the same unit, no clue what the serial com data format is. I have at least two dozen Drok units of different tiers, the ones that I have worked out don’t seem to correlate between each other. (As an example, I have several digital relay systems that I command via UART/TTL, speaking of only Drok units… I have the relays, some multichannel function generators, several very expensive power units like this one and the 60v high wattage step-down with remote LCD screen, etc.) I have tapped into most of those and have had limited success, in fact, I just converted my DS5015 into a Bluetooth serial version myself but I’m using another OEM .apk to control that one.

    I strongly prefer just using a serial terminal, and it really seems to me that there’s some serious incompetence down the line in getting the information across (not always, but more often than not across any given vendor). What’s the point of putting the UART/TTL interface om the front page of the part specs if nobody can provide arguments and commands? We’re just supposed to guess this stuff?

    On a number of the other devices I mentioned, after tons of research and testing, I have found (with variable success) some standard formats. Example,on the digital relays, you can request the operational mode currently active on the device, turn the function on/off entirely,or program the timing modes directly (with a really stupid format for the time string/value, either #.#.#.#, ###.#, #### plus a few more).

    Some customers really, really need communication protocol info for a given device/project. As I said already, it’s asinine to push the port interface as a feature, then have literally zero documentation, like there’s some sort of magic wand to be waved.

     

    For the most part,I like all of my Drok sources modules for convenience, quality, generally satisfying design. I have invested a good four figure amount in the parts, and use them daily mostly… But again, we need this information.

     

    Please and thank you. This request should go to the top of the company, not because I’m special, but for the benefit of ALL who buy any of your units that have UART/TTL headers, or really, any serial interface/bus (iic, spi, one-wire, you name it).

    Hi – I purchased this model with the intention of controlling it via serial.

    I haven’t been able to find any documentation on how to control this device / baud rate / TTL voltage / etc.

    Anything you can share? Thank you

    If I look at the tx/rx pins on the bottom right of this board, they are both 5v, as well as VCC when I check with a multimeter.

    I would expect the logic level on the TX pin to be always at 3.3v.  I tried connecting both 3.3v and 5v TTL at 9600 baud with no luck.

    Any idea what I could do here? Thanks again.  The product itself looks fantastic, but I need serial control for my project!

    Hello Mike,

    Do you mean the TTL level is 5v now? But it request 3.3v .
