Some transistors won’t test. Some go directly into a Self test mode when trying to test a trans. Some transistors I know are good, the tester can’t read them, “No, Unknow or Damaged” is the message. Are there certain types of transistors that can’t be tested? And what is the deal with the self test going on?

    Thanks

    Hello,

Please check if it is this item, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MS1FOYM?ref=myi_title_dp

It is just self testing mode.  The transistor should be with 2 or below p-n junctions, and no  resistance-capacitance is included.

    Best regards.

Yes that is the device. I’m not sure I understand, I’ve tried PNP and NPN transistors using all three connections. So are you saying that is not correct? Should I only be using 2 connections?

    Thanks,

    Hello,

please make sure the only two p-n junctions or less . And no  resistance-capacitance is included.
