Dear Sirs, I bought a B01GNNLYX4 900W DC Boost-Converter and I am fully satisfied. I am looking to control the voltage settings bypassing the UP-DOWN pushbuttons that are on the little plug-in display board and utilizing instead an external controller, i.e. Arduino or Raspberry. Looking on this little board, on the left of the display I can see several terminal points (Vcc-Gnd…)and two among these are labelled “Tx” and “Rx”. Is it possible to send/receive signals through those two points? If this is the case, can you point me to some datasheet that can enable me to have some more information about which type of signals they accept?

    Hello Nilo Provera,
    Thank you for writing in.
We have consulted your problem to our technician that this product cannot utilize instead an external controller, i.e. Arduino or Raspberry.
The terminal points (Vcc-Gnd,Tx,Rx) is the marks for the program of this product.
    Hope this can help you.
    Best regards

    Hello,

My company purchased a number of these with the intention of using them in a project that requires computer control of the output settings after seeing the Tx/Rx pins and hoping it would be able to communicate in this way.

Since we’ve been unsuccessful in finding an affordable product that functions as well as this one that has external serial control, we wished to contact you to see what the cost would be to have such feature implemented, or if we could license a copy of the original code such that we could implement it ourselves.

We’ve been doing a lot of research in trying to find a boost converter exactly like this but with the serial comms support, and I feel like your product could be much more valuable with this relatively simple to implement feature added.

    Hello Michael,
Thank you for writing in and we are glad that this product can meet your demand.
Do you mean you want to purchase the product or want to purchase the product pins diagram?
If for the product pins diagram, so sorry that we cannot provide this for you.
    Hope you can understand.
    Best regards

My suggestion was we help by paying you to rewrite your firmware to support serial control, and then you can sell the product with the extra features and it still costs us less (hopefully) than the cheapest possible solution we were able to find (>$1000 per device!) or trying to reverse-engineer yours.

We only want a reliable way to get serial control — it’s going to cost less to pay you to do it since you already have 99% of it, instead of trying to build one from the ground-up. There’s nothing like this with serial control on the market except VERY high-end industrial units that are not cost effective.

We don’t sell power supplies, there’s no incentive for us to design our own.

    Dear Michael,
Thanks for your reply in details.
Our technician is not working on weekends. So can’t give you the certain answer now.
In normal condition, we will not accept customize order unless there is a big order.
Could you please tell us what’s the quantity that you want to buy?
Besides, the new year is coming, the busy period.
Even we can customize the product for it, it should be carry on in the next year.
    Is it acceptable?
    Hope you can understand.
    Best regards

I want to add another voice to encourage you to consider adding this feature (serial access to adjust set points) as I think this would be a very valuable feature for many applications. Perhaps incorporate this feature into an advance version that sells for a higher price.
