Hi there. On Amazon.co.uk website there is the DROK® Boost Converter 5V to 12V. It looks like the product number is 05111202S – link – https://www.amazon.co.uk/Converter-International-Regulator-Waterproof-navigation/dp/B018RSMRKW/ref=pd_sbs_263_7?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=XVJNPQVSXEMAKSXGRET3
I want to use a 7 volt half wave rectified AC supply as the input (Pulsed DC). Does the Boost converter have any input protection? Do I need to rectify or smooth the input first or will the Boost converter be OK with this input?
    Thanks

    Hello Doug Whitfield,
    Thank you for writing in.
It has input transient high voltage protection, output over current protection, chip overheating protection, but no reverse polarity protection and short circuit protection.
In addition, is the input voltage DC 7v? Please make sure the input voltage is DC 5V-12V.
    Best regards.
