    if I originally wanted to hook a piece of equip up to a 12V car btry – but wanted to reduce the out put to 9v with a max of 10amps – most voltage reducers max with 8amps output before they blow – but a voltage booster/regulator can handle up to 15amps output. could I use a voltage booster/regulator to lower (regulate) the voltage like a voltage reducer?

    Hello Robert,

    Thanks for writing in.

    For boost votlage reglator, output voltage must be higher than input votlage, so it is impossible to be used as voltage reducer.
