This question is about the following product:
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JKG57T4
DROK® DC/DC Automatic Boost Buck Converter Module 60W Constant Voltage/Current Car Voltage Regulator DC5-32V to 1.25-20V Adjustable Current Step Up&Step Down Voltage Converter for Solar Energy LED Driver Battery Charging

My application is to use this board as a CC/CV charge controller for a LiFePO4 battery charging from solar panel and car electrical system.

I’ve tried 3 units so far, and they all have the same behavior. Setting CV to 14.5V (the battery charge voltage) works fine on an open circuit. However, the CC adjustment has not worked on any of the 3 units I’ve tried. When the input is connected to a 12V supply and the output to my LiFePO4 battery, the board runs at the full 60W regardless of turning the CC trim pot up to 10 turns in either direction. I would like to limit the current to around 2A to avoid overheating inside of the enclosure.

Any ideas what I’m doing wrong, or did I just get unlucky with 3 bad parts in a row?

    Hello Shannon,
    Thank you for writing in.
Have you connected a load to the output of the board?
If yes, what is the load?
Could you please send us some images of your wiring and the working environment to let us check the problem details?
You can send this information to us by email (service at droking dot com).
With your help, we can find a solution more quickly.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
    Best regards

Thanks for your reply. After more debugging, I eventually realized that the problem was how the board behaves when the ground wires for IN and OUT are both connected to the same terminal strip. In that case, it will operate at the full 60W. If I separate the ground wires so that they’re not shared in common, then the CC adjustment works as expected. I’ll need to adjust my design, but I should be able to work around this behavior.
