It currently has a plug transformer to step the power down from 230v AC to 12 v DC. I want the router to have a consistent 12v supply from the 12 v batteries. As the battery voltage alters depending on its state of charge and whether it is being charged by the alternator I am wondering whether I should have 2 amp fuses before and after the buck boost converter to protect it and the router or whether one before the buck boost converter is sufficient.
What is your advice please?

Thanks for your reply.
We are not sure if it should be 090029. We can’t find out any items with 0900209.
And 090029 is a buck converter instead of buck boost converter. We sugges it should protect converter and your route separately, so it is better add fuse before and after converter.
