Hi,
I bought 200327 to convert 4-20mA to 0-10V for my led controller. My power is 24VDC.
I am using a PLC to control the current. The PLC is a sinking module and must be supplied with current in the range of 18-30VDC, meaning that the device acts as a power source (In this case a current source) and sends it to the PLC. The PLC actually throttles the current with an internal transistor.
My current wiring setup goes:
24V+ -> 0.5a fuse -> (current source+)
(Current source -) -> PLC current input DA2I, which then through the PLC hardware current is throttled and sent to ACOM (0V)
So my question is why did the resistor just burn up? I do not have continuity between my (Current source -) and 0V. So there should have been no current. Is the current sampling resistor not rated for 24V, or is this unit not meant to be used as a sourcing module?
