I have recently purchased two DC-DC 12v to 5v converters. One is listed at 3A and the other is listed at 5A. I am not to get either of these two items to output over .07A. I am currently using a Drok USB meter to get this information. The input that I am pushing to this is a power supply listed at 12v 3a. Is there something that I am doing incorrectly wit these?
Hello Alex,
Could you please tell us your order ID or the ASIN of the products you applied in the application and more details of how you operate the products, such as the load , the wiring, the working environment?
It is better that you can sent us some photos or a video to show the problem details.
Waiting for your reply.

Currently I am using a 2.1 amp USB cigarette adapter. I purchased the items to be able to hard wire the unit and not use the adapter. I have tapped power for these new items from the car stereo harness and the same wires that are powering the cigarette port.
Hello Alex,
Thank you for your reply.
Have you connected a load when you measure the current?
This converter is not compatible with constant current.
The output current is according to the need of the load device.
If you want to know whether the output current can reach 3A/5A or not, you need to connect a load device when measure the output current.
Hope this can help you.
Best regardsAlexMarch 23, 2016 at 11:15 pmPost count: 0I have connected a the item that I mentioned when I test this. I am using another Drok product to test the output. ASIN of the tester is B00S2HJAUE. When I connect the dash cam to a wall power supply the dash cam powers up and reads .9 amps. Then I switch out the wall power supply for the 12v to 5v converter and with the load it only reads .07 amps.
Hello Alex,
Thank you for writing in and your continued patience.
We have consulted your problem to technician
The output current of the converter is according to the need of the load.
If you want to know whether the output current of the converters can reach 3A/5A, could you please try to use a 3A/5A load to test them?
Beg your understanding.
