Been using a Power Supply Module DC 9V~36V to 5.2V 5A Double Output Buck Converter/USB Charger/Voltage Regulator/Adapter/Driver Module model Number 200217 to power a RPi 4 from a 12v source. Just added a UPS Hat to the RPi and hooked it up according to instructions with the UPS Hat. The RPi and the UPS Hat power up but now the power light on the 200217 blinks and the UPS is giving me a power fail indication. The UPS documents says that it needs 5vDc >= 3A which the 200217 should be able to provide. What is the meaning of the blinking power light? Disconnected from the UPS/RPi it returns to steady on.

    Thanks

    Hello Chuck Bowers,

Does the 12v source can offer enough power? If that UPS need at least 15w power, input power to 200217 should not be lower than 15W.

    Best regards.

It must have when it was first hooked up. I used different 5V USB-C source and charged up the batteries fully then transferred back to the 200217 and I have a steady power light now. I take it from your answer that the blinking light relates to the fact it could not draw from the 12v side the required wattage. I will note that for troubleshooting in the future.
