Can the 100043 5 wire voltage/Ampere Meter be installed on a 12 volt negative ground car (I have a 1982 XJS Jaguar). When I purchased this off of Amazon it implied it could be used on cars and I have intended to mount the gauge on the dash inside the car . But the schematics I located on line only show a individual motor with the shunt connected to the negative side. On the Car you cannot connect on the negative side of the battery as it will exceed 800 CCA (cold cranking amps) which would exceed the 50 amp limit on the shunt. Can the shunt be added in the middle of the 12v positive charging wire off of the back of the alternator? If so can you confirm the correct connection points for the 5 wires. I would very much like to avoid a smoke test method. Thanks in advance
