I purchased this item: DROK Adjustable DC Power Voltage Converter AC 110V-220V to DC 0-24V Module Switching Power Supply Digital Display 480W Voltage Regulator 20A Step Down

    I’m very happy with it.

I have a question: what happens if I try to charge a LiFePO4 battery with it? The battery will try to draw up to 100A at approx 14V, but your power supply is rated to supply only 20A.

Will your power supply be damaged?

Or will it supply up to 20A only but continue to run ok?

    Thanks.

    Hello William,

    Thanks for your supporting.

As per your description, do you mean this item? 200305

The actual output current is decided by load, so if your battery draw over 20A, #200305 is not suitable. It will be damaged.

    Best regards.

Yes, it is your item 200305.

Does it have a fuse inside that I can replace? I won’t be using it to charge the battery then. But in case another device draws more than 20A that I was not aware of, I would like to be able replace a fuse if it uses one.

Related, do you make a battery charger that can charge a LiFePO4 battery?

    Hello William,

There is 5A fuse in input circuit. If device draws over 20A, power tube will also damage. In that case, it can’t work again even though you replace fuse. Therefore you need to make sure the max load current can’t be over 20A.

There are many converter can be used as battery charger. What is input and output range?

    Best regards.
