I would like to monitor the charging of an iPhone 7 plus, using various USB mains chargers including a 10W iPad charger, and my Windows laptop USB 3.0 port. These will be more powerful than the original 5W charger supplied with the iPhone. I will be using the original Lightning Connector cable that comes with the phone.

Which Drok USB Charge Meter will allow

    a) the iPhone charging circuit to communicate with the power supply to draw as much current as the L-ion battery can withstand. IPhone doesn’t use QC 2.0 or 3.0 but some other form of current management protocol…. and

    b) the iPhone to communicate with the laptop to run iTunes while charging.

It is not clear to me whether some Drok current meters will interrupt the Lightning Cable communication so that the charging current drops from 2.1A to the default 1.0 Amps?

(Other Internet users confirm that the iPhone 6/7 charges at 12W when connected to the more powerful iPad chargers.)

    Many thanks for your advice.
