    This works OK if used to supply a load such as a 12v bulb from a 5v source. Why does output current go negative when module used to charge a lead acid battery charger from the lower volt source? Is this an inappropriate use?

    Hi, did you purchased this 8A Boost Buck Module? Yes, it is an inappropriate use. You need to use a constant voltage and current module to limit the max current when charging the battery.
