I bought a boost converter to boost a 11v battery to a 30ish V 3A supply for a 100W LED. It seemed to work great – until I made an admittedly stupid mistake of trying to measure amperage without putting the meter in series and creating a short. The LED seems fine and undamaged, but now the boost converted makes a hissing noise (it will stop if I touch one of the heatsinks on the converter). However, it seems to function OK.
Is the converter toast now and I need a new one? Any way to fix the hissing noise?
Thanks,
Anthony

Thank you for you r reply.
As your description, there is a hissing noise with the product, which means some components of the product was broken.
Besides, it is better to use a converter with constant current function to drive LED, otherwise, it will cause damage to the product.
And we have checked that the product you have bought does not have constant current function.
It is not suitable for your application.
Hope you can understand.
