She still wants to make her own breakfast, choose her clothes, water her plants, and keep her usual morning routine, but some tasks are getting harder for her. For families who have used attendant care, does it actually help seniors stay independent, or does it start to feel like someone is taking over their life?

She helped with meals, walking safely around the house, light cleaning, reminders, and help with daily routines, but she still let him do the parts he could manage himself. I found this page useful when we were trying to understand what attendant care usually includes: https://goodhandshomecarellc.com/home-care-services/attendant-care. It explained the non-medical side pretty clearly, especially how support can be adjusted to the person instead of forcing a whole new lifestyle on them.

Small familiar things matter more than people realize, like sitting in the same chair, keeping the same kitchen setup, or having coffee at the usual time. Even little changes can feel big when someone has lived a certain way for years.
