Hello. I purchased this step-up converter a few days ago. Running power from this 3.7V LiPo battery, I tried to use the LM2577 to power a 12V screen, but it did not seem to properly supply power to either of the ones I tried. Screen 1 and Screen 2.

It should be noted that I tested both of these screens on the same video input using a 9V charger I have, and both of them worked flawlessly. I’m new to electronics so it’s possible that I created the circuit incorrectly, but this doesn’t seem to be the case. Here is a rough diagram of the circuit I’ve created:

All of the parts are within each other’s specs. Connecting Out+ and Out- directly causes a buzzing noise and the LED display turns off momentarily. Am I doing something wrong, or did I receive a faulty part?

    Hello Sam,
    Thank you for writing in.
We are sorry fot any inconvenience caused you.
To find out solution for you as soon as possible, could you please let us us how you adjust the potentiometer? And what is the reading on display?
Sincerely look forward to your reply.
    Best regards.

I adjust the potentiometer using a small flathead to rotate the screw as per instructions. The reading says ~4.5V in and ~14v out. However my multimeter says ~3.7V in and 12V out. The screen I’m using is rated for 12V but it can work within at least a 9-14V range so that’s not the issue, and I tried adjusting the potentiometer on the part to 12V initially and the device still would not power.

    Dear friend,
    Thank you for your rely.
Have you try to operate it without connection to load?
Is it the same situation in that case?
    Best regards.

Sorry, I figured it out. Turns out it was a weird required ground connection on the screens that was preventing proper power. Apart from a slightly inaccurate potentiometer, the step up module works perfectly. 🙂
