    Hello Bruce. S,

    Everything obeys the  law of conservation of energy. No matter how you change voltage, total power remains unchanged.

    If input source can only offer 100w max power , it is impossible for converter to output 113.4w (54vx2.1a)

    And from 12v to 54v, there is a large voltage difference. It may cause more energy loss. So actual output may not be as what you set.

    Simple mode is regarding how to program output votlage/current. it is necessary operation。
