We were wanting to use the YB5140DM to measure current on a 10HP 480V 3Ph 11.8Amp motor driven by a Lenze ESV223N04TXB Frequency Inverter.  We are only measuring one phase.  I realize that the digital multimeter is only rated for the 45-65Hz frequency range, but that is the only range we are interested in.  The first attempt to use the meter resulted in smoke coming out and the meter does not function now.  We have another meter, but would it be advisable to try it or is the meter not suitable for this application?

    Hello Tom Penick,

We think it should be this item,

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078X9MJGH/ref=as_li_tl?tag=proeng-20

Did you check the frequency with other meter? We wonder if it is a high frequency electronic speed regulator.

Our meter is not suitable for this kind of application.

    Best regards,

    DROK
