Of the four wires connected to the shunt shown in the model 051 multimeter schematic (6.5*100V, 100A/75mv shunt) I would like to eliminate one of these wires by using only the ground to battery terminal of the shunt and then installing a jumper at the multimeter between that ground connection and the adjacent connection specified for the smaller shunt connection.   It appears the small connectors at the shunt are their for convenience of attaching small wires. Reason:  I have several three wire waterproof connectors on hand I would like to use.

    Hello Norm Oleson,

    Thanks for your message.

As per your description, we think it should be this item. 200141

Please kindly hook it up according to wiring diagram. Shunt is used for measuring current. All of wires can’t be disconnected. If wiring is not correct, meter can’t measure current or may burn out.

    Best regards.

Sorry I didn’t provide a diagram.   The device works as advertised using three leads from the shunt and a  “jumper” between the two ground connections at the multimeter.
