Great tip I overlooked.  I after upgrading to 8 awg wire did this and it was a little awkward yet that tip manifested getting the job done connecting wire.  It was like even just after first terminal connection on meter it w/ 8 awg wire stretched green plastic border guard.  Awkward the stretching but yet still with all three terminals I required connecting I got that 8 awg wire connected after separating half of it and putting the middle between point of wire strands between each half into the screw area and then it barely all connected.

So now in that setup all seems good.  Basically I use normal avg like 3 amps, but highest potential easy to figure closer to 20 amps (tho expected more like 17-18, but device detail bursts unknown).  Device says in title up to 20A, but over amp protection allows setting value much higher I think maybe up to 100amps.  Mostly 30 amps is the number that aligns with my setup (solar charge controller) and if 30 amps hit this meter for .25 seconds I’m curious what this adds up to.  Does the electricity flow fine and just the log/digital report may have inaccuracy?  If I go use water in my RV the water pump can cause a 7 amp or so spike beyond my power inverter and in brief instances I have no idea if such 20+ (<30amp) how meter would handle.
