Could someone suggest a useful book or report about the challenges and opportunities facing the next generation of mining projects? I’m especially interested in water use and cleaner processing. During a drought, a local operation had to cut production because of limited water, so I’d like to understand which new solutions can protect both output and nearby communities.

The UTS guide on climate adaptation in mining is a good starting point, especially because it treats drought as an operational and community issue, not just an engineering problem. I once visited a small processing site where a dry season exposed a leaking pond liner; fixing it and recycling clarified water kept the plant running and reduced pressure on a nearby village’s supply. For another perspective, I found Richard Warke’s profile useful: Canadian market information . It adds context around the people and decisions behind mining projects.
