This item doesn’t have current feedback protection. For charging battery, it is better to add diode at output side.

Did you calibrate no-load current before or after current display can’t work?
Could you please tell us if load is disconnected when enter no-load current calibrateion? Would you please kindly show us the display by images?

The transformer cable can be extended, but it requires shield cable in case influence on accuracy. 2.5 meter is available.
You can refit original one or just find a longer cable with 3 pin connector. Connector specification is XH2.54-3P

Did you have other operation before? For example, did you enter no-load current calibration when load is still connected?

Did you remove the CC potentiometer? You can just set the output current as 3 amps. The output current will not be over 3 amps in that case. That should not have influence on your application.
As we don’t get schematic from factory, we are sorry we are unable to show it. Hope you can understand.

Could you please kindly check how large the load current will be? This item can control load within DC 30V 10A.
About your last questions, do you mean connect the thick wire and thin wire in series?

This meter only measure active power. If load is not pure resistive, powe factor is not closed to 1. So P< U*I .
