Output power is roughly equal to input voltage x 80% of fuse current.

The meter you show us is similar to one of our meters,but as it is not sold by us, we are not sure if our suggestion is suitable for your application. Hope you can understand.
Based on our meter, all of wires length had better below 0.5m. And we don’t limit the thickness of wire, most of household wires are available.

But according to your description, the load power should be 15W and input power is only 10W.
Input power is not enougth,so item may shuts off. Please try to use larger power supply.

We think the red light you mention should be on the measurement board. It is a relay indicator instead of power indicator.
To check what wrong is, could you please take some images to show us the display and your wiring?
